What I Learned at the REO Concert

I have waited 15 long, agonizing years to see REO Speedwagon in concert.
I had tickets once but could not attend.  Long, bitter story.  I'm over it now.
Kinda.
It was well worth the wait.  They were amazing.
I sang every word to every song at the top of my lungs.
What little makeup I didn't sweat off was gone with my tears of absolute joy.
I would pay to see them again.  and again.  and again.
I went for the REO, I became a big fan of Styx.
I listen to Classic Rock, I am familiar with their tunes but I can tell you after seeing them in person,
I am a true fan.  Seriously.
Before this concert, I associated Come Sail Away with an episode of South Park.
Cartman sings it, and it's delightful.
No more...that song kicked some major ass.
I can tell you that 50 year old men will try(and Fail) to hit the highest notes in Renegade.
After last night, I am positive that there is an age at which you should cover up your cleavage.
People are scary.
Ted Nugent was the first act.
He is a great guitar player.  He is still an offensive, foul mouthed idiot.
His last song was Stranglehold and I still associate it with the movie Invincible.
I love that movie and as he played it, I could see the movie in my mind.
This was my first concert at Starlight Theater in Kansas City.
I assure you it will not be my last.
What a beautiful venue!  The acoustics were top notch.
The people were friendly.  There were no incidents at all.
Considering the nature of the first act, this could have been a dumpster fire.
It was a perfect evening.
I can't wait to see Boston in September.
The people are going to LOVE hearing me sing More Than a Feeling.

  8. I am still waiting to see STYX. And to the chagrin of my husband, I put on a live show and sang all the way through it! Some day........... I will be able to torture others ears too.
