Write Your Own Story

That quote fits my kid to a T.
She is so amazing and I love her.
Everything about her.
Her awkwardness, her love of puns, the way she embraces her nerdiness.
It's in your blood, kid. Don't fight it.
I love the playful colors and doodles in the Me-ology line from Fancy Pants.
All product used is from that line except the woodgrain cardstock background and mist.
I used my small circle punch to cut sequin-size bits to scatter about.
I also used my butterfly punches to punch butterflies.
You can see this layout as well as 7 others from the Paper Issues Design Team in this issue of the Fancy Pants newsletter.  It was a thrill to be included!
I am linking this up to the Anything Goes party at Paper Issues!
I hope you can join us. We have a great prize pack to give away!

blackcats LO.1
It's that time of year again!
Time to blow some stuff up!
I didn't add a whole lot to this layout because I really like that black and white paper from Heidi Swapp.
PLUS I la la la LOVE that picture.
I was literally laying on the ground in the middle of the street to get it.
This was the aftermath of a ginormous wheel of black cats...16,000 to be exact.
After about 10 minutes I couldn't hear a thing.

Bag Love {Paper Issues Swag Bag}

Did you get the February Swag Bag from Paper Issues?
I loved every little tiny bit of it.
Especially the wood hearts from Pinkfresh!
I used it to create this layout featuring some of my favorite things:
My Coach bag and black boots!
I used some molding paste on this as well.
One advantage of not knowing how to use something is that you have no limitations.
I don't know if I'm using it correctly but I like what it did!
I slapped some on the cardstock then sprinkled some glitter on it.
After that I ran a polka dot brayer through it.  It was a mess!  I love it!

I know that the March Swag Bag is going to be awesome!  Can't go wrong with rainbows and stars!!
That's all I can say about that.    ;)

Shine Bright

I really love scrapping large photos.
This one was almost 8x11.
It really lets the picture be the star.
This is my baby girl.  We did an impromptu photo shoot in the back yard.
This was actually one of the outtakes of her rolling her eyes at me.
It was may favorite.  That's what teenagers do.
I love the Luxe line from Pink Paislee.
The gold metallic is awesome.  Makes me so happy.
I am linking this up to the newest issue at Paper Issues.
Come join us and you could win a GC to the store!
This was my first attempt at cutting gold foil on my Cameo.
You need it.  You must try it.  Cuts like buttah. Plus it's adhesive backed.  yay!
All of those little banner flags were cut with a 2 point banner punch from EK Success.
I actually cut up the Luxe packaging.
I loved it so much...and the patterns were super tiny, making them exponentially cuter.
The gold stars are from the Paper Issues store!  I adhere them with glossy accents.
I adore this new Tinaldo cardstock!
It really looks like wood!  You  need it, too!!!
I flicked gold mist on the background and rubbed it with a gold ink pad.
You can always use the code CASSIE and save an extra 20% in the PI store!
Woot!!

We are total Super Hero nerds in this house.
Compound that with my daughter's love of dressing up and taking selfies and BAM!
Recipe for awesomeness.

Photo Op Layout {Paper Issues + Ruby Rock-it}

Escapist Layout
The new issue is up at Paper Issues!
We are celebrating Fall and Love.
Ruby Rock-it is sponsoring and I got to work with their new At Last line.
As soon as I saw the colors in the amazing papers, I knew I wanted to scrap this picture.
We were driving downtown to get cupcakes(like we do) and we pulled off to take a picture in front of this mural downtown.
It's the Escapist Skateboard building in Kansas City.
I cannot tell you how much I love living here.
It also helps that my kid is super photogenic and always up for a Photo Op.
I would also like to give a shout out to Jen Chesnick.  Her post here about photographing layouts is awesome.  I purchased the lighting set up that she mentions in her post and it has changed.my.life.
I used modeling paste on this layout with a chevron stencil.  I also painted with Heidi Swapp color shine!
It was fun!  Just dip your paintbrush in the mist and go to town!  It was really complimentary with the At Last papers, they both have an amazing sheen to them.  So pretty!
This is a Two-fer!  I linked it up at Curtain Call!  Join in!
I used Ruby Rock-it papers and embellishments from the At Last line, UmWow star chippies, modeling paste, sequins from the Paper Issues shop, Heidi Swapp Teal Color Shine, Thickers from American Crafts, Caribbean solid twine from The Twinery, and my handy dandy 2 point punch.

Let's Ride

Let's Ride LO
I love Blake Shelton.
I love his new album and I am pretty sure that he will be singing this song right to me when I see him in October.
Pretty sure.
This week at Paper Issues we got to work with Hope Chest from Pink Paislee.
I Love this collection!  Love it!
I cut "sequins" out of the map paper and scattered them about.
How can you NOT use that rooster?  Seriously.
Check out what DeeDee made next and hop along with the girls.
Link up a project over at PI and you could win a Pink Paislee prize pack!
Woot!
I also made a little something for my mom at her request:
